Department of Human Services: Phone triage nurse service

Objective: Encourage Victorians who need health advice or information particularly out of hours, to call the phone triage service rather then going to a hospital emergency service department.

Actions resulting from the campaign:

Our strategy was to approach the task as a social marketing issue with direct marketing solution. The key was to create a memorable phone number and imbue the service with a strong sense of trust.

From a light media launch schedule the Nurse-On-call service was handling upwards of 900 calls per day, seven days a week.
